Thrace, Anchialus, Geta, Galley Reverse

Æ; 28mm/14.6gm     Struck c. 209-212 AD

Con/ Some roughness on the reverse, otherwise, about Very Fine; glossy dark green patina and much better in hand than as presented in the photo.

Obv/ AY K P CEP GETAC; laureate, draped, cuirassed bust right.

Rev/ OVLPIANWN AGXIALEWN; galley with four oarsmen left, emperor standing left on board, holding patera and scepter, facing the oarsmen, value mark delta to left.

Ref/ Varbanov 474, Moushmov 2878.

Seller's Note/ Wonderful example of a rare galley scene. This coin does not photo well at all; in hand, all the details are crisp and readily see. A gem...trust me!
