Ave!

 Roman Vulva Adornment, Inexplicable, X-Rated! c. 1st -3rd Cent. AD.

Copper alloy; 35mm/9.3gm

Con/ As Cast and Fabricated;

Ref/ A&L AA14.43 var. (strap slide) but none like this.

Seller's Note/ For years, due to the bar soldered to the reverse, we believed this vulva adornment was a harness strap slide. But now, after closer examination, this cannot be as the reverse is too tight to admit a strap. So, what is it? The most likely explanation is that it adorned a bronze drinking cup or small wine flagon. If not, use your own imagination. :-)
