Roman era Trumpet-style Celtic Brooch, c. 2nd Cent AD
Copper alloy, 37mm/11.3gm, pin intact, cleaned and waxed.
Con/ Sound and fully intact with original pin and spring.
Seller's Note/ As the Romans began to assimilate the local Pannonian and Dalmatian Celtic warriors into their Legions during the 1st-2nd century, they brought their own influences as per belt adornments and brooches as well. This particular brooch emulates their ancient carnyx battle horn they blew before battles during the Iron Age, between c. 200 BC and c. 200 AD.
